The Specialsport Guide is open to all organizations that welcome people with special needs and disabilities into their community. Maybe it’s one specific disability that is in focus or maybe it doesn’t matter what special needs your members have – regardless – if you are one of the many super cool associations that love diversity and differences, we will do everything we can to help you recruit even more members!

Do you dream of a specific activity or have a great idea?
Sport and club life can provide great experiences, strengthen self-esteem and, not least, friendships for life – but often it needs to be on different terms or with completely different activities than what is immediately available.
Therefore, we often work from an idea that makes sense for one or more children and from there we find the right association to set up a collaboration with. It could be Chess, Manga drawing, Firefighter teams, Just Dance or K-pop culture – if it’s important to you, it’s important to us.
The fact is that when you practice being part of a volunteer community as a child, you become even better at it as an adult and it has the wildest consequences for your entire life, in terms of joy, friendships, less illness, greater independence and closer to the job market.

As a volunteer with special sports, you can work with exactly what you are most passionate about – and still make a huge difference for children and young people with special needs and disabilities.
Whether you volunteer around the sport like Soprinye, Tobias and Gyser, or as a companion like Rebecca, with administrative tasks like Anne and Else, research like Manuel or whether you pursue your nerdy passion like Signe with Excel or Mika with her camera – you always have a big impact on your tasks, because we know that when we have fun, with a high degree of reciprocity, the relationship just lasts longer.
Whether you live in Denmark or abroad – whether you speak Danish or English – it doesn’t matter. Together we’ll find a way to create much more specialty sports together.

We are a non-profit organisation that helps children and young people with special needs and disabilities to become active in associations.
At Specialsport.dk we can help with concrete solutions. It can be anything from matching you to the right sport or finding a volunteer companion who can safely accompany you to and from sport. We have helped many other children and young people with special needs to become active in associations. That’s why we have a lot of experience and knowledge about how we can best help you.
Our goal is to ensure that all children and young people with special needs have access to an active community life.
